Certificates

  • Certificates will be awarded to the top scoring station in each entry category listed under Section 6 of the official rules, for each IARU WAC continent and each country.
  • Participation certificates will be awarded to each station that makes at least one valid QSO in the contest and submits an entry (not a checklog!).
  • Certificates will be published on this website as Adobe Acrobat pdf files for individual entrants to download and print at their convenience.

OCDC plaque 300

Trust me, a smart, top-quality metal plaque, engraved with your callsign and details of your winning score, makes an eye-catching addition to any shack.  Two or more of them, all the more so!

Oceania DX Contest plaques are highly sought-after, leading to intense competition for the top slots in every category that offers them (see above ... and get in touch if you’d like to sponsor further plaques). 

 

Oceania Newcomer Plaques sponsored by Oceania Amateur Radio DX Group

  • Purpose: To encourage first time entrants to participate in the contest, and those who have only participated once or twice previously (since the rules were revised in 2001) to have another go and attempt to improve their score.
  • Eligibility:
    • Oceania PHONE Newcomer Plaque
      • Awarded to the newcomer from Oceania with the highest single operator score in the PHONE section (in any category)
      • A newcomer is an entrant who has participated in the PHONE section (under any call sign or category) no more than three times since the 2001 contest.
      • A newcomer is not eligible to receive this plaque if they have won one or more other plaques or trophies in the PHONE section, either in the current contest or a previous one.
    • Oceania CW Newcomer Plaque
      • Awarded to the newcomer from Oceania who has the highest single operator score in the CW section (in any category)
      • A newcomer is an entrant who has participated in the CW section (under any call sign or category) no more than three times since the 2001 contest.
      • A newcomer is not eligible to receive this plaque if they have won one or more other plaques or trophies in the CW section, either in the current contest or a previous one.

Frank Hine VK2QL memorial trophy

 

Frank Hine Memorial VK2QL Trophy sponsored by WIA

  • Purpose: this unique trophy commemorates aircraftman and keen contester Frank Hine, VK2QL, who as well as being an amateur radio pioneer served with No. 3 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force in the 1930s
  • Eligibility:
    • Awarded to the leading Australian single-operator entrant in the CW all-band section

 

 

 

Australia Club Competition Plaque sponsored by the VK Contest Club

  • Purpose: to reward the Australian radio club with the greatest number of Single Operator entries in the OCDX contest by members of the club.
  • Eligibility:
    • For each club, the number of participating member stations is equal to the sum of the number of stations in the PHONE section and the number of stations in the CW section.
    • In case of a tie between two or more clubs, then the scores of the individual participating stations will be totalled for each club, and the plaque will be awarded to the club with the highest total score.
    • To qualify as a participant, a station must log at least 50 valid contacts during either the PHONE or CW sections of the contest
      • A station that logs at least 50 QSOs in the PHONE section and at least 50 QSOs in the CW section is deemed to qualify twice as a participant.
    • To be eligible for the plaque, a club must submit a minimum number of 3 participant stations.
    • Only local clubs in Australia are eligible for this award - national organizations or clubs like the WIA or VKCC are not eligible.
    • Participating club members must live within an area of a circle with a maximum of 200 km diameter.
    • Each entrant should state the name of the club in their log, by completing the CLUB: field in the Cabrillo file header.
    • The Committee reserves the right to request further information from any branch, club, or group about its membership.

 

New Zealand Club Competition Plaque sponsored by Phil Holliday ZL3PAH

  • Purpose: to reward the New Zealand NZART Branch, DX Club, or Contest Group with the greatest number of Single Operator entries in the Oceania DX Contest by its members.
  • Eligibility:
    • For each branch/club/group the number of participating member stations is equal to the sum of the number of stations submitting logs in the PHONE section and the number of stations submitting logs in the CW section.
    • In case of a tie between two or more branch/club/groups, then the scores of the individual participating stations will be totalled for each entrant and the plaque will be awarded to the branch/club/group with the highest total score.
    • To qualify as a participant, a station must log at least 50 valid contacts during either the PHONE or CW sections of the contest
      • A station that logs at least 50 QSOs in the PHONE section AND at least 50 QSOs in the CW section is deemed to qualify twice as a participant.
    • To be eligible for the plaque, a branch/club/group must submit a minimum number of 3 participant member stations.

Mirek Rozbicki VK6DXI Memorial Plaque sponsored by Slawek Barciuk VK3CTN

  • VK6DXI MirekPurpose: to commemorate our departed friend Mirek Rozbicki VK6DXI (formerly SP5IXI) and recognise his significant contribution both to the OCDX contest and to amateur radio contesting generally.
  • Until his untimely death in April 2015, Mirek was a keen HF contester, an enthusiastic participant and supporter of the OCDX contest.
  • Mirek was a longstanding member of the OCDX Contest Committee since 2006
  • He was the generous sponsor of the Frank Vander Drift VK3COF Memorial Plaque for the highest scoring station from Europe in the CW Single Operator All Band category
  • He was instrumental in establishing the VKCC award for the top scoring VK club in the contest.
  • He was also the proud winner of the Oceania Single-Op All Band category in both the phone and CW sections of the 2004 and 2005 OCDX contests.
  • Mirek’s leadership, enthusiasm and wise counsel is greatly missed by the Committee.
  • Slawek was a friend of Mirek since 1996 when they both participated in the VK7DI Deal Island DXpedition.
  • Eligibility
    • For the highest scoring station from Europe in the CW Single-Operator All Band category.
