- Purpose: this unique trophy commemorates aircraftman and keen contester Frank Hine, VK2QL, who as well as being an amateur radio pioneer served with No. 3 Squadron of the Royal Australian Air Force in the 1930s
- Eligibility:
- Awarded to the leading Australian single-operator entrant in the CW all-band section
- As an historic and valuable piece, the trophy itself is retained by WIA while winners are sent plaques.
